How to apply for school
Parents and carers who live in the Essex County Council area (excluding those living in the Borough of Southend-on-Sea or in Thurrock) can apply for their child’s school place online using the Essex Online Admissions Service here. A child reaches compulsory school age at the beginning of the school term after they turn 5.
Applications for primary school
Applications for primary school usually open at the beginning of November and close in January. You are usually informed of the decision in April. Applications for secondary school
Once your child is in Year 6 you will need to apply for a place at secondary school. Applications usually open in Mid-September and close at the end of October. You are usually informed of the decision at the beginning of March.
