Affinity Programme

The Affinity Programme commenced under HCRG Care Group on 1st September 2021. It runs across Southend, Essex and Thurrock (SET). This is an NHS England Vanguard service commissioned, through Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board, on behalf of the Department of Health and Justice at NHS England.

What we do

The service is a targeted early intervention project working across all of Essex, including the unitary authorities of Southend and Thurrock, for children and young people who are at risk of exclusion from education due to emotional dysregulation. The programme provides tripartite support to children and young people (age five up to their 16th birthday), their family and their school.

Who are we?

As an NHS England Vanguard site, we are a team of practitioners who provide support to children and young people, their families, and their schools in the development of emotional regulation skills to support reduction in school exclusions.
