We’re excited to announce our school nurse text-messaging service; ChatHealth Essex is now live!
With more young people using mobile devices to administrate their daily lives, we want to provide support on all health matters through our anonymous texting service.
This is manned by a School Nurse between the hours of 9-5pm Monday to Friday, and we will respond to all messages within 24 hours Monday – Friday. Our aim is to provide a timely, and convenient access to confidential health advice for every young person in Essex.
The contact details are:
|Mid Essex School Nursing Service||07520 615731|
|South Essex School Nursing Service||07520 615732|
|West Essex School Nursing Service||07520 615733|
|North East Essex School Nursing Service||07520 615734|
We do not usually inform your parents or anyone else if you contact our nurses. We might inform someone if we were concerned about your safety, but we would usually speak to you first. Your messages are stored and can be seen by other
healthcare staff who follow the same confidentiality rules. We aim to reply to you within one working day and you should get an immediate bounce-back to confirm we’ve received your text.
Texts will not be seen outside of normal working hours. If you need help before you hear back from us, contact a professional or your doctor. Our text number does not receive voice calls or MMS picture messages. We support messaging from UK mobile numbers only (which does not include messages sent from landlines, international mobile numbers and some ‘number masking’ mobile apps). To view our NHS privacy notice please internet search: “NHS CCS privacy notice” or use this link bit.ly/nhsprivacynotice.
Prevent our nurses from sending messages to you by texting STOP to our number.
Do you have a young person who is in Year 9 (Aged 13/14)?
If so, within the summer term, a member of the Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service will be in contact with you. Together we will discuss how we can support your young person in starting to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing, and anything we can do to support you as a family. As part of this, we will be asking to speak to your 13/14 year old directly to share any appropriate health information and ask if there is anything we can do to support them. If you have any further questions, then please contact your local Healthy Family Team.
