Virgin Care and children’s charity Barnardo’s are inviting local people to attend informal drop in events to share their views for the continual review and improvement of the Essex Child and Family Wellbeing service, which launched in April 2017.
Healthy Family Teams working from local children’s centres (now called Family Hubs) and affiliated sites throughout North, West, South and Mid-Essex deliver care and activities including heath visiting, school nursing, parenting support and youth support as well as the coordination of activities provided by other services and agencies from these sites.
In addition, in West Essex, Virgin Care provides community children’s health services ranging from community paediatrics, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, specialist school nursing, community children’s nursing, allergy clinic, continence and dietetic services.
The Citizens’ Panel events will be an opportunity for local people to engage with the service, and for Virgin Care and Barnardo’s to listen to experiences so far. It will also provide people with a chance to get involved in key transformation projects in progress and due to start and hear about the work Healthy Family Teams have been doing from Family Hubs over the last few months.
Richard Comerford, Managing Director of the Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Services, said: “We’re keen to listen to views people will have on our services and those they have on the needs of children and families generally. Feedback we receive will broaden our thinking and focus our approach for developing, changing and improving the services we deliver to local people. Therefore, we are urging interested Essex residents to engage with the Citizen’s Panels we are running.”
